Biographical / Historical
Born: 3/27/1913, Died: 8/13/1993
James S. Armentrout, Jr., was born in Lancaster, PA. He attended Germantown Friends School and graduated from Princeton University in 1935, receiving his M.F.A. in 1938. He began working for the firm of Barney & Banwell in 1936, and his employment evolved through associate and partner and successor firms Barney, Banwell, Armentrout & Divvens and Banwell, Armentrout & Divvens. During World War II (1942-45) he worked for Eggly-Furlow Engineers and the engineering department of the Pennsylvania Salt Manufacturing Co.
