Biographical / Historical
The Samuels were a prominent Jewish family in Philadelphia, and through marriage were related to other Jewish families in New York and the South. The central figure of this archival collection is John Samuel (1829-1913), a prominent Philadelphia attorney and member of the Congregation Mikveh Israel.
