Biographical / Historical
The Society for Photographing Relics of Old London was founded in 1875 by Alfred Marks in London, England, to record the Oxford Arms, one of the last traditional galleried public houses, which was to be demolished as part of the redevelopment of the Old Bailey. John and Alfred Bool took the photographs, which were met with such positive reception that the project continued to other London locations, totalling 120 photographs.
